Steven Blackerby obtains summary judgment for a Georgia municipality in an employment-discrimination case

On October 6, 2015, Steven Blackerby obtained a favorable decision for a Georgia municipality in an employment-discrimination. The plaintiff was a former employee who alleged that he was denied a promotion due to his race and that he was the victim of a hostile work environment. Based on those allegations, he asserted claims under Title VII and claims for violations of his constitutional rights. In a detailed 26-page order, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia granted summary judgment on all claims. Moore v. City of Douglas, No. 5:13-CV-118 (S.D. Ga. Oct. 6, 2015).
