Emily Hancock joined the firm as an associate in 2011. She focuses her practice on civil litigation including local government representation, insurance defense, employment law, and civil rights litigation. She is also a registered general mediator with experience handling employment and contract disputes.

Emily was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in Highland, Maryland. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with majors in English and Linguistics, and went on to become a cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law. During her time in law school, Emily served as the Senior Articles Editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law, and was a member of the executive board of the Student Bar Association. She also spent a year providing legal advice and assistance to indigent clients in the Public Interest Practicum program, and mediated numerous cases in the Athens-Clarke county magistrate court.
